One Direction come over all Mumford & Sons on this track from quaternary album 'Midnight Memories'. Look – come back! The boys actually carry off the stadium-folk stomp of 'Happily' remarkably well, partly because the producers don't overdo the banjos, only mainly because the chorus is large enough to blast the roof off a barn.
Naughty or Nice? Not quite as nice as it seems. 'And if he feels my traces in your hair,' they sing on the second poetry, 'I'm sorry Lord, only I don't actually care.' Eww.
15. 'Daughter Almighty' (2014)
Hidden in the middle of 1D's quaternary album (handily titled '4') is this '50s stone and roll homage. Imagine McFly covering a Buddy Holly song and you're not far off. With lyrics defending a girl whose 'laugh is as loud as as many ambulances equally it takes to save the saviour' – aye, that'south an actual line – 'Girl Omnipotent' is wonderfully light-headed stuff.
Naughty or nice? Dainty, though her express joy does sound pretty awful.
14. 'Stockholm Syndrome' (2014)
This 'Four' anthology track is actually rather lyrically adventurous. Westlife or Accept That never compared an intense relationship to the psychological phenomenon where hostages sympathise with their captors. It'southward besides pretty out-in that location musically, ditching 1D's usual power popular bounciness for a slick soft rock chug that suggests someone in the grouping really enjoyed the Haim anthology.

Naughty or dainty? Nice, and definitely preferable to Elton John's 'Candle in the Wind 1997'.
11. 'You & I' (2013)
Though it stalled at Number 19 in the United kingdom and 68 in the US, this slow-called-for single from 'Midnight Memories' is actually one of One Direction's best ballads. It sees the boys edge into soft rock territory, as gently strummed acoustic guitars are joined by tasteful strings and a misty-eyed guitar solo that dads of teenage girls can nod their heads to. Clever.
Naughty or dainty? And then nice that it wouldn't be fair to write anything snarky here.
x. 'Little Things' (2012)
It's not difficult to tell this sweet audio-visual ballad was co-written past Ed Sheeran. 'You can't go to bed without a cup of tea,' Zayn sings on the 2nd verse, 'and maybe that's the reason that you lot talk in your slumber.' Harry Styles has a co-writing credit, so it's fun trying to judge which of his former flames might have inspired regret-filled lyrics and confessional couplets similar: 'All the rest of my crimes don't come shut/To the look on your face when I let you become'.
Naughty or dainty? Overnice. Real men know when to admit they were wrong.
8. 'Live While We're Young' (2012)
This lead single from the band's second album is an infectious retread of the lead single from their first, 'What Makes Yous Beautiful'. Thankfully, 'Live While Nosotros're Young' is merely unlike enough to work as a classic 1D banger in its own right, despite the similarities in its guitar riff to The Clash's 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go?'.
Naughty or overnice? Naughty. When the boys belt out the chorus – 'This evening let's get some and live while we're immature' – they're non singing about popping into boondocks for a fro-yo.
7. 'Night Changes' (2014)

Factor in some affecting lyrics about a relationship on the rocks – 'baby, running later you is like chasing the clouds,' Zayn sings on the bridge – and 'Story of My Life' becomes irresistible. It's the band's best ballad to date.
Naughty or nice? Nice. Just don't listen to information technology if you're still getting over a break-up.
iv. 'Buss You' (2012)
This power-pop come-on is so persuasive, information technology'south hard to believe anyone could say no to a I Direction band member afterwards listening to it. 'Everybody wanna steal my daughter, everybody wanna steal her heart abroad,' they trill on the chorus. 2. 'What Makes Yous Beautiful' (2011)
